Last updated August 26, 2026. Support: support@whothis.com. By using WhoThis, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund & Billing Policy, which is part of these Terms.
Service scope
01 — A search signal, not a factual identity report
WhoThis searches publicly available information and organizes potential matches with similarity scores. Results may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect, and a match percentage reflects visual similarity — not a confirmed identity. Always verify a match at its source before acting on it.
Acceptable use
02 — Only photos and searches you may lawfully submit
You may not use WhoThis to harass, stalk, threaten, impersonate, discriminate against, or unlawfully monitor another person; bypass privacy controls; violate intellectual-property or privacy rights; interfere with the service; or enable another prohibited use.
Regulated decisions
03 — WhoThis is not a consumer reporting agency
Do not use WhoThis results for employment, housing, credit, insurance, tenant, educational-admission, or other regulated eligibility decisions.
Purchases and renewals
04 — Purchases, trials, and automatic renewal
Paid plans, including paid trials, are billed exactly as disclosed at checkout. If you purchase a trial plan, it automatically converts to the monthly membership shown at checkout unless you cancel from your account before 11:59 PM Pacific Time on the last day of the trial. Memberships renew automatically each month at the price disclosed at checkout, charged to your payment method, until you cancel. Your checkout authorization covers these recurring charges; we do not request a new authorization for each renewal. Full billing, delivery, and refund terms are in our Refund & Billing Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Delivery and refunds
05 — When a search is delivered and when it is refundable
A search is delivered when its results first load. Trial fees and billing periods are non-refundable once a search has run in them. Memberships are prepaid and non-refundable once a billing period starts, without proration for partial use or non-use. Canceling stops all future charges and preserves your access through the end of the current paid period. Simply not using the service does not cancel a membership — cancel from your account.
Chargebacks
06 — Contact us before opening a bank dispute
If you don't recognize a charge, contact support@whothis.com before contacting your bank — we resolve billing issues quickly, usually within one business day. Payment reversals initiated without contacting us may be treated as potential fraud or theft of services: the associated account may be suspended, we may contest the dispute with our checkout-authorization and search-delivery records, and once a transaction is in a formal bank dispute we are unable to refund it directly.
Accounts
07 — Keep credentials secure
You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your credentials secure. By providing a payment method you confirm you are at least 18 and authorized to use it.
Availability and changes
08 — The service and these terms can change
Coverage, features, and availability may change. We may restrict access for abuse or legal reasons. The service is provided subject to applicable law and without a guarantee that every search will return a result. Updated terms will be posted with a revised date.
