Privacy policy
How WhoThis handles information.
Last updated August 5, 2026. This page explains the information involved when you use WhoThis and the choices available to you.
Information involved
Account, search, and technical information
WhoThis may process account and session details, the photo you choose to submit, search requests and results associated with your account, purchase and entitlement status from payment providers, and technical or analytics events needed to operate and improve the service.
Purpose
Why the information is used
We use this information to authenticate you, run and display searches, maintain account history and access, process purchases through service providers, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the product, and understand product performance.
Photos and results
Different data has different retention needs
The submitted search photo is used to run the search. The upstream search service may retain search inputs and related data for operational, security, and legal purposes. Search records and results may remain associated with your account history so you can access them later. Browser storage may temporarily preserve onboarding progress or retry information on your device.
Providers and choices
Service providers, access, and deletion
WhoThis relies on infrastructure, authentication, analytics, search, and payment providers to deliver the service. You can manage subscription access from your account. For privacy or account-data questions, use the support channel provided in your account or payment confirmation.
Safety
Security, age, and policy changes
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure. WhoThis is not intended for children. We may update this notice as the service or legal requirements change and will post the revised date here.
